Study found fish oil consumption and blood levels to be significantly lower in people with RA autoantibodies. Evidence is still lacking on whether it prevents disease development or treats RA progression.
But this is how you spin it😉
Supplementation of omega‐3 fatty acids in patients with ankylosing spondylitis
High dose fish oil supplementation prospectively reduced disease activity in Ankylosing Spondylitis patients.
Fish oils improved skin, nails and quality of life in Psoriasis sufferers.
Even though this study was open (not blinded), it is no less impressive. It demonstrated significant improvement in all outcome measures in a mere 8 weeks, and the treatment group started off worse than the control group. And we all know how tough it is to treat the nails.
The “fish oils” used in this study is proprietary. The EPA & DHA are “low dose”: one wonders if high dose would work greater wonders! It also contains olive oil and other stuff: so maybe these help too!
Higher blood fish oil levels correlate with fewer gouty arthritis flares.
Fish Oil Supplements May Ease Lupus
Fish oils help Lupus too!
High dose fish oil supplementation improved pregnancy outcome in Antiphospholipid Syndrome patients with recurrent miscarriages.
In these studies, the APS & SLE patients took ultra high doses of omega-3 oils (5g & 3g respectively): not well tolerated by many. I suppose it boils down to how desperate one is.
